In an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the cottage, originally built in 1697, has recently been restored to a very high standard and has been awarded 4 stars by the British Tourist Authority. Tasteful and yet understated, this lovely cottage has been interior designed and features antiques, handmade and upholstered furniture throughout. The cottage will/has; The master bedroom has a king size bed; the second bedroom has a double and a single bed. The third bedroom is set out for children with two singles and an 'over and under' bunk bed. Downstairs features a utility room (with washing machine and dryer), an eat-in kitchen and two sitting rooms, one with a large stone fireplace, the other with a woodstove. The second sitting room has a television, small study and cloakroom. This room also has a sofa bed and can be used as a fourth bedroom. The garden offers an enclosed lawn, a summerhouse, containing table football, a small orchard with rope hammock, and even a trampoline. You may also be interested in Afton Thatch Lodge, which is small, detached, thatched cottage set in the grounds of Afton Thatch. It is accessed through a shared drive, yet separated by hedging. It has its own garden, reached through three french windows facing east towards the downs and the sunrise. The Lodge offers accommodation for a couple and children or guests. The master bedroom on the first floor has views over the downs and estuary plus an ensuite bathroom with deep double ended roll top bath. On the ground floor is the open plan kitchen and living room with two "over and under" occasional day beds which can sleep four more. The Lodge is equipped with central heating. The simple kitchen has a two burner deluxe gas hob, a microwave with a conventional oven, a toaster and a kettle. The living area has a large television with surround speakers, and the cottage has wi-fi wireless broadband internet. Afton Thatch Lodge is available seperately or with Afton Thatch year round for weeks, short breaks and weekends. Rented together with Afton Thatch, the properties together make an ideal location for a multi-generational family reunion.'
