Heathfield Farm Camping is a small family park in the rural West Wight on the outskirts of Freshwater village.
The West Wight has some of the Islands most spectacular scenery. On a clear day the views from the National Trust’s Tennyson Down are breathtaking. The Needles and Alum Bay, famous for it’s coloured sands, is only two miles away. Nearby the historic harbour town of Yarmouth is ideal for sailing enthusiasts.
A short walk leads you to the safe and sandy beach of Colwell and the adjoining bay of Totland. Whilst these beaches appeal to sunseekers and those interested in building sandcastles or exploring rock pools, the nearby beaches of Compton and Brook are ideal for surfing and fossil hunting.
A park so Green it won a GOLD from David Bellamy!
Heathfield Farm has for many years been a winner of the prestigious David Bellamy Gold Award for conservation and has also achieved Green Island Gold Award status.
We offer nine acres of unspoilt countryside on the site of a non-working farm. The planting of indigenous trees and shrubs has created a haven for birds and small mammals. You may even catch a glimpse of our resident red squirrels.
The park is open and level, with easy access to our sixty generously spaced marked pitches, forty of which have electric hookups. Trees and hedgerows give shelter to most pitches. There is also a wild flower meadow with plenty of space to exercise dogs. The separate playing field is ideal for ball games and has barbecue areas with picnic tables.
Fishing, golf, horse riding, sailing and other water sports are all available nearby. The park is also a great starting point for exploring the surrounding countryside on foot or by bike. An information board with a map of colour coded walks will help you to decide your route.
The modern amenity buildings have showers, toilets, separate wash cubicles, hair dryers and shaver points. There is a large separate wheelchair accessible shower and toilet room.
The laundry room has a coin-operated washing machine, tumble dryer and ironing facilities. There is also a clothes washing sink. The adjoining dishwashing area has a wheelchair access sink and also a separate food preparation sink.
All facilities are maintained to a very high standard of cleanliness.
We sell Camping Gaz and also offer a freezer pack service in return for a small donation to our "Heathfield Camping Tree Plantation Fund"
A frequent bus service linking all parts of the Island departs close by.
We offer ferry package holidays to include the cost of your stay and ferry crossing from any port, which can save you time and money.
