Rylstone Manor

Set in delightful parkland gardens amidst maturetrees and winding paths, which lead you to the shingle and sandy beaches via the cliff steps, The Manor was privately built in 1863 and remained a gentleman’s residence until 1923.

It is of Victorian proportions but with the influence of Gothic, Tudor and Georgian periods. These styles blend into one, making the Manor unique, not only in its exterior, but also within.

Arrive to be shown to one of our well appointed selection of 9 en-suite rooms each named after an English tree and take a moment to enjoy the peaceful outlook offered from all aspects. Sea glimpses, lawns, well tendered flower beds and tall majestic trees give the feeling of tranquillity

Settle in with tea, in the drawing room or garden and make the Rylstone experience a manor you can get accustomed to, because a stay makes a night into an occasion

For the more energetic a visit to the famous Chine is a must, a ravine of natural beauty which features rare plants, a stunning waterfall, and woodland walks that take you from the Village to the shore and from there the coastal walk is the next natural step.

Our fine cuisine is served in the intimate atmosphere of the candlelit dining room, where a variable choice is changed daily and prepared by the resident owner chefs.

We have a small but attractive lounge for aperitifs or an after dinner brandy. There is also a comprehensive wine list offering wines from the Island to Australia.
